Her Majesty The Queen is pictured visiting the headquarters of MI5 in February 2020 on this collectible replica of a First Class stamp from the Platinum Jubilee issue.
These platinum replica* stamps are produced from bars of platinum. These are first rolled to the required thickness then laid between sheets of PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate). The top sheet of PMMA then has a Platinum colour applied to retain the original colour. This sheet is pressed using a stainless-steel mould and a heat press. This allows high detail embossing and relief allowing elements of the original stamp image to shown. The sheet is then trimmed to size and perforation holes added to the outside edge.
The stamp contains at least 0.1g of platinum.
