A limited edition souvenir sheet presented in a specially designed folder. Ten labels adjacent to ten First Class Union Flag stamps feature key players and moments from West Ham’s tenure at Upton Park.
After 112 years West Ham United Football Club played its final game at Boleyn Ground (Upton Park) at the end of the 15/16 season and moved to the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, East London for the start of the 16/17 season.
To mark the end of its tenure at the ground and celebrate key moments, players, coaching staff and achievements associated with this time, Royal Mail teamed up with the club to produce this exclusive stamp sheet contained in a specially designed presentation folder bearing the famous West Ham claret and blue colours.
The individually numbered, limited edition sheet comprises ten labels adjacent to ten First Class postage Union Flag stamps featuring key players and moments during West Ham’s tenure at Upton Park including the full squad that started the 15/16 season. Amongst those featured are West Ham legends Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst, Trevor Brooking, Billy Bonds and Julian Dicks. Each label also contains the iconic ‘Hammers’ emblem.
The folder bears the West Ham crest and contains key facts and figures about the club and the stadium including West Ham’s history, honours, key player statistics as well as a short explanation of how the Boleyn Ground was redeveloped over the years. It also includes the lyrics of West Ham’s anthem, ‘I’m forever blowing bubbles’.
