The Presentation Pack includes all eight Special Stamps and is replete with both Hurley’s dramatic photographs and images of the expedition’s artefacts and impedimenta. Inside, author Michael Smith describes the hardships, heroism and ultimately the rescue of Endurance’s intrepid crew by their dauntless Captain.
Beginning with the vessel’s departure from Plymouth in 1914 and culminating in the rescue of the stranded crew members in August 1916, the pack is designed to echo Frank Hurley’s original photographic scrapbook and represents an enthralling way to explore the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition led by Ernest Shackleton.
