This exceptional cover combines the Racehorse Legends Special Stamps with a specially commissioned medal from The Royal Mint. Designed by the engraver Laura Clancy, the front of the medal features champion racehorse Hyperion and the words: The Sport of Kings. Hyperion is immortalised with a statue located in front of The Jockey Club Rooms in Newmarket.
The reverse of the medal shows an image of two horses at full gallop.
Has all eight Special Stamps affixed, cancelled with an Aintree handstamp, as a tribute to the Grand National.
Includes a feature on world-renowned jockeys plus quotes from industry legends Sir Henry Cecil, Peter O’Sullevan, Peter Bromley and Ryan Moore about specific horses and races that epitomise the passion and excitement of this sport.
Available in an individually numbered, limited edition of just 9,000.
Includes a comprehensive list of all of the nation’s racecourses on the reverse side of the cover.
The cover also comes with a complimentary pull-out containing key stats about and photos of each of the horses that appear on the stamps including notable victories.
